Cieanna Smith is a Graduate of the University of West Indies where she obtained a Bachelors of Law with honours. She then attended the Norman Manley Law School where she was awarded her Legal Education Certificate. She was called to the Bar in 2014.
While being a student at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Cieanna was involved in several clubs and societies, including the prestigious University of the West Indies Vice Chancellor’s Corp, Students Today Alumi Tomorrow (UWISTAT). While attending the Law School, Cieanna held the position of Publications Committee Chairperson on the Student Executive and represented the Law School in Trinidad for the Lex Caribbean Client Interviewing Competition.
Cieanna has received several awards and prizes for both academic performance and involvement in community service/volunteerism. She is amongst the first set of youths in Jamaica to receive the Governor General’s Youth Award and was the recipient of the Hon. Justice Langrin Memorial Scholarship, Caribbean American Bar Association (New Jersey Chapter) Scholarship, Tastee Scholarship for Law, Jaghi Scholarship, Osmond Tomlinson Scholarship and others.
Cieanna has a passion for voluntary work and has been affiliated with such service organizations as Optimist International the University of the West Indies Vice Chancellor’s Corp, Students Today Alumi Tomorrow, in which she serves as a Vice President with responsibility for Communications Committee. Additionally, she was primarily responsible for the Farrs Children’s Outreach Programme in Barbados
Cieanna joins the firms Wills, Trust, Estate Planning, Probate and Administration of Estates Department. Other areas of practice includes, Intellectual Property, Corporate and Commercial Law.
Being a young attorney, she is often times commended on her welcoming personality (which creates the comfort clients need when seeking legal advice), and her analytic skills; being very thorough and working sedulously to ensure clients-care and satisfaction!
